John was born John Joseph Corbett on May 9, 1961 in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Sandra (Pavilack) and John Marshall Corbett. He is of English, Irish, Lithuanian, and Russian-Jewish descent. He is an American actor and country music singer.
John Corbett portrayed Carrie Bradshaw's long-time boyfriend Aidan Shaw in "Sex and the City".
He is best known In 2002, he starred as the male lead opposite Nia Vardalos in the blockbuster romantic comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (2002), and reprise his role in its sequel, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" (2016).
He is known for his role as Chris Stevens on CBS "Northern Exposure". Corbett also starred as Max Gregson on the Showtime's "United States of Tara". He had a recurring role as Seth Holt on the NBC's "Parenthood". He also starred in "The Warlord: Battle for the Galaxy" ("The Osiris Chronicles"), a failed television pilot.
Aside from acting, Corbett has released two country albums, including his Billboard charting self-titled debut.
