Laney Berlin is a guest character on season one of Sex and the City. She is a former Manhattan party animal who was friends with Carrie and the rest of the girls, as well as a rival of Samantha, who met an investment banker and ditched her wild ways for a life in the suburbs.
Biography[]
Berlin was at one of Samantha's crazy parties and was seen drunk and feeling promiscuous, her infamous party trick is yelling "who wants to see my tits?" before stripping naked and showing off her breast in front of the party, to the dissatisfaction and confusion of Carrie, Samantha and Miranda.
A few years later and Laney is pregnant and she invites her old NYC friends to celebrate with her. The girls travel down and see Laney, completely transformed into a pink wearing, 9 month pregnant housewife with matching baby centric friends to boot. She enjoys seeing her old city friends again but is seen lecturing Samantha to Charlotte, telling her how embarrassing it is that Samantha is still getting drunk and "bed hopping".
Laney angers Charlotte when she finds out that she plans on naming her baby "Shayla", which was the name Charlotte always wanted to name her child and something she only told her friends. Laney denies this but Charlotte and the girls storm out of the baby shower.
Later, Laney calls up Carrie to thank her for coming to the baby shower, Carrie says she's heading out to attend one of Samantha's parties and Laney is jealous. While Carrie and the girls are at the party, Laney arrives unexpected and plans on being her old wild child self again. She tries to drink but Carrie stops her. In order to recapture the old days and liven up the party, Laney asks "who wants to see my tits?" and proceeds to unbutton her blouse, only for the room full of people to look at her confusingly.
Looking around, Laney sees the reaction and realizes she isn't the same girl she was before and Carrie walks her to her cab. Laney tells her she's jealous of her single days.
